Kunshan launches Sino-US scientific innovation center

Sino-US (Kunshan) Scientific Innovation Center was launched at 2018 Duke International Forum in Duke Kunshan University on Sunday.

With the theme of "Artificial Intelligence, Drivers of Cross-border Competition and Collaboration," the 2018 Duke International Forum invited more than 20 scientists and entrepreneurs to join discussions and deliver speeches. They included Suzhou Mayor Li Yaping, Vincent Price, president of Duke University and Feng Youmei, executive vice chairman of Wuhan University.

There are more than 200 AI enterprises in Suzhou with a combined output value of more than 50 billion yuan (US$7.81 billion) in 2017. The output value is expected to double to 100 billion yuan in 2020, according to the mayor.

Duke International Forum is held by Duke Kunshan University and Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Paul Triolo, Practice Head of Geotechnology (GeoCyber) at Eurasia Group, and Liu Jingnan, chancellor of Duke Kunshan University, delivered keynote speeches at the forum.

The annual Duke International Forum, first held in 2015, is supported by Kunshan City People's Government.
