The 14th China International Cartoon & Animation Fair concluded on Monday in Hangzhou, which attracted participants from 85 countries and regions, including 2,641 Chinese and foreign companies, 5,760 exhibitors and 14.34 million visitors, who spent 2.49 billion yuan (US$391.97 million) during the fair.
Also, the fair sealed 1,291 cooperation deals involving 13.84 billion yuan (US$ 2.18 billion).
The Animation Industry Summit held at the fair invited domestic and foreign famous writers and cartoonists such as Cai Zhizhong, Zhu Deyong and Xia Da to give speeches and hold their book signing promotions. The fair also invited 11 world-class animation fair organizers to have discussion on the marketing strategies of animation fair's internationalization.
Also, Hangzhou held other animation industry promoting events such as the China Animation's Museum's global solicitation of animation collections, which received more than 200 collections from domestic and foreign donations.
Meanwhile, China (Hangzhou) International Children's Cartoon Competition and China International Comic & Animation Festival set up their international divisions in the city; and the International Animation & Game Business Conference held 22 events, attracting 1,218 companies and 1,896 domestic and foreign registrants to participate and they signed about 1,000 cooperation deals.
In addition, the fair's organizer signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Alibaba to carry out in-depth cooperation to promote the CICAF and the animation industry.
