Yuhang offers high salaries to recruit talents from top overseas universities

Yuhang District in the north of Hangzhou is offering annual salaries of up to 500,000 yuan (US$78,125) to recruit 20 talents from top 100 overseas universities, according to a press conference of the district government yesterday. 

Among the 20 talents, 10 will be recruited as senior government employees and 10 will be intermediate employees. The government departments offering the positions include: reform and development, economic information, science and technology, commerce, planning and transportation.

Some of them will be employed by industrial platforms or state-owned companies, including Hangzhou Future Science and Technology City, Yuhang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Linping New City, Liangzhu New City and Renhe Advanced Manufacturing Base.

Applicants should have full-time postgraduate or doctorate degrees from top 100 overseas universities, be fluent in Chinese and a main-stream foreign language, with one to three years' working experience and aged under 35 years old for doctoral candidates and 32 years old for postgraduate students.

Application process will be started in early April, and from mid of May the applicants will be reviewed, interviewed and hired step by step.

Online interviews will be adopted for the first time, and those passing the online interview will be invited to Yuhang to have face-to-face interviews. Free room and board, and transport subsidies of up to 7,000 yuan will be provided for interviewees.

Successful candidates will be offered employment of three years with annual salaries from around 350,000 yuan for intermediate employees with postgraduate degrees, 380,000 yuan for intermediate employees with doctorate degrees and around 500,000 yuan for senior employees.

Promising career development path and sufficient settle-down subsidies will be provided for successful candidates, according to the press conference.
