Jack Ma, in yellow, and Governor Yuan Jiajun (fourth from right) of Zhejiang Province, check out a smart restaurant at Computing Conference in Hangzhou yesterday.

In future, diners can order food or customized dishes and even play games while waiting for the food. The touch screen on the table can identify a diner through facial recognition and real-name certification systems of Alipay, the online payment service provider, which can also automatically pay the bill afterwards out of the diner's account. Alipay will instantly notify the diner of the payment.

More than 40,000 IT professionals from home and abroad have gathered at Computing Conference, which kicked off in Hangzhou today and will close this Saturday at Yunqi Small Town.
