The feasibility study for the first phase of Metro Line 9 from downtown Hangzhou to Yuhang District has been approved by experts appointed by the Zhejiang provincial government.
The planned subway will have 14 stations along a 17-kilometer route and cost 17.2 billion yuan (US$2.49 billion) in investment. It will connect with Metro Line 1 at Passenger Center Station in the south and Linping Station in the north.
The construction of Metro Line 9 will start later this year and finish in 2021. Once in operation, people can travel from Xianghu Station in Xiaoshan District to Linping Road Station in Yuhang District directly with a train interval of 15 minutes.
